Known worldwide,
Maple Bear is Canada’s largest and fastest growing network of schools, currently based in 560 locations in 40 countries. Why the Canadian method of education, you might ask. The answer is simple: Canada’s education system ranks first among English-speaking countries and consistently tops the charts worldwide. “The educational programme is focused on developing skills for the 21st century: creativity, critical thinking, cross-cultural competence, but also developing the social and emotional side of the child,” explains Maple Bear Czech CEO Jiří Zelenda.
The choice of Nová Zbrojovka was obvious
Maple Bear’s Brno elementary school is their first elementary school in the Czech Republic, and we’re all the more pleased that they chose Nová Zbrojovka to set the ball rolling. Klára Horzinková, marketing manager of Maple Bear Czech Republic, describes the choice as essentially straightforward: “We chose a modern building that met all of our requirements to open a bilingual Maple Bear school, including a nice neighbourhood for outdoor activities and a nearby sports ground. This emerging neighbourhood is ideal for raising children for the 21st century.” And this complements the second aspect of their choice that we were genuinely moved by: “We wanted to be part of this project, which has a magnificent approach to the space and development of the city and is in line with our modern educational philosophy for the future. We also felt supported by the accommodating approach, professionalism and sense of dependability provided by the management of CPI Property Group.”

Visualisation of Maple Bear Brno learning spaces according to Canadian standards
What we find very sympathetic is Maple Bear’s open way of communicating. Open days are a standard kind of event, but the opportunity to meet and talk to the headmaster in person offered by Maple Bear as part of its enrolment takes these standards up a notch. And we think that approach speaks volumes. Therefore, if this educational concept appeals to you and you want to learn more, you’re cordially invited to the Open House directly at the ZET.Office (Lazaretní 9) on 25–26 April 2024. Or you can arrange a personal meeting with Martin Drnek, director of Maple Bear’s Brno office.
Attention! ZET.Office has the last 6% of space left
In the 2024–25 school year, Maple Bear will begin classes in the first grade and plans to open a zero-year class for preschoolers. Gradually, the school should grow to 15 classes. With this new member of the ZET.Office team, we have only 1,200 m2 of the total 19,500 m2 of space left for any other interested parties. The last opportunity to become part of ZET.Office, a the tool shop of a former weapons factory clad in a high-standard modern industrial coat and adapted to current technological trends.
The civic amenities of Nová Zbrojovka are being assembled piece by piece before the new residents fill them up – exactly as we planned. We consider a high-quality mix of amenities, services, administrative and housing options to be the basic pillar of every development stage.

The future form of the multifunctional building with a state school and kindergarten in Nová Zbrojovka, created by the SOA architekti studio
We believe that a planned state school and kindergarten operated by the Brno-Židenice district will soon be added to the private schools of Nová Zbrojovka. The form of this multifunctional school was tendered in 2022 and the result is spectacular. The winning architectural studio SOA architekti, which was unanimously selected at the time, presented a comprehensive solution not only for the school building, but also for the surrounding area, including the sports complex. The excellent news is that project preparation should start as early as this summer.
