In the future, PORG will cover an area of 10,000 m2. Over 4 floors it will have capacity for 636 pupils in 14 elementary and 12 grammar-school classes. The building will also include an after-school club, auditorium, gym and outdoor playground.
PORG is a school with a long tradition. It was established in 1990 as the first non-state school after the Velvet Revolution. Today, it prides itself on top-quality education. Its graduates regularly get into the world’s best universities, whether it’s Cambridge or Harvard. Together with the second elementary school in Nová Zbrojovka, whose founder will be the Brno-Židenice district, they will offer a great educational mix.
For us, the opening of PORG is a key piece of the jigsaw in civic and public amenities. We’re glad that the form of education for future Zbrojovka’s residents, and Brno residents from the wider area, is clearly settled before the first apartments were built. Nová Zbrojovka is, after all, being created as a place to live. And high-quality educational institutions will be an important pillar of the new neighbourhood.
