Have sparkling wine poured by an acrobat suspended on rings and plunge into a whirlpool of discovery, dance, liberation or observation in several completely different environments. Such an experience promises the third edition of Nebál, Brno’s “party of the year”, defying the standard genre boxes. An epic art party conducted by the Brno gastronomic group Lidi z Baru will take place on Saturday, 7 September, 2024 in our Hala 76.
The world of Ecstasy, Harmony and Transcendence awaits you
. The theme of this year’s event is the Odyssey or the Journey to Knowledge. “In our lives we’re constantly roaming. From birth to death. To specific places. For knowledge, pleasure, beauty. And that is what we will try to project into the Nebál scenario,” says Veronika Kučerová, marketing manager of the event.
In the generous spaces of Hala 76, several visually and plot-wise completely diverse worlds will be created, which are intended to arouse a wide range of emotions in visitors. The heady world of Ecstasy will doubtless offer endless energy and a journey to discover one’s most authentic self. In the world of Harmony, on the other hand, you will ascend to the clouds, pause for a moment and understand that beauty can be seen in everyday life. Entering the world of Transcendence, however, you can taste distances through touch, climate and smell.

Powerful experiences at Nebál 2023
Preparation of the event takes a whole year
To devise a backdrop that allows you to perceive this odyssey in its different shades, the organisers take a whole year. “To complete the atmosphere, we’ll use, for example, four kilometres of red fabric, five parachutes, 21 disco balls, the sound track of the human heart, 120 costumes or a hundred square metres of traditional Japanese sumia painting. The props and sets from several theaters fill up an entire LGV,” adds Vanda Klestilová from the production team.
When preparing the event, Nebál’s authors try to erase any boundaries in thinking about the concept of the entire 10-hour evening. “For the third year running, we have been busily verifying that anything is possible and that even an idea that seems completely crazy at first can be implemented,” adds Nebál manager Eva Gerych. The form of most of this year’s experience is being withheld by Lidi z Baru so as not to spoil the surprise for Nebál’s guests. Past years have included rides in luxury cars driven by actors, a stay in the Garden of Eden with intimate tasks to complete, or a ride on a carousel.
160 artists will guide you through Nebál
Nebál is also an unbroken sequence of artistic performances. The multi-genre programme will include performances by the Latin duo Gatafiera, British RnB Aka Kelzz, electropop group Viah, the Brno Philharmonic & Percussion Ensemble JAMU and the steel-string guitar of Panoptikum. Artists will perform shows from the categories of new circus, hand-balancing, vogue, aerial acrobatics or contemporary ballet and theatre.

Behind it all: Lidi z Baru
The event is backed by famous names running their own businesses and projects and by true professionals in the gastro/events field. Lidi z Baru is a Brno gastronomic group combining several sister companies and projects. These include Bar, který neexistuje, Super Panda Circus, 4pokoje, Starý a Nový Whiskáč, Slast, Hotel Anybody, the Žardán summer bar and the Grandhotel Sluchátko in Vranov nad Dyjí. Their other projects are: Turbomošt – the drink of the Brno Christmas market, the summer stall concept Na Brno dobrý, the Ukrainian restaurant Buď Laska, the brain-hack drink Osmička, cocktail catering Úplně Všude and the consulting company Mluvící hlavy.
