Season Six of V ODZBROJENÍ: The People Behind Nová Zbrojovka
As always, let's begin with a look back at our sixth – and final – season. It featured another diverse line-up of guests and topics, offering different perspectives on Nová Zbrojovka. This time, we focused even more on people who create positive change, challenge conventions, and inspire both society and the ongoing development of our neighbourhood. Our guests included experts, visionaries, project partners, members of our own team, and people who have chosen to build their future in Nová Zbrojovka.
 | #1 Petr Mihalco | "Children should learn to reflect on and respond to change." We went out into the field, specifically to the Labyrinth laboratory school in Brno, to Petr Mihalec's first-grade class. The teacher introduced us to how the school works, what differences he sees in teaching compared to "traditional" schools, how cooperation with students and among themselves takes place, what form of learning is most effective, what should be changed in Czech education, what the future school in Nová Zbrojovka should look like, and there was also an inspiring debate and opinions from the students themselves.  | #2 Michal Stec & Honza Špalek | A mortgage for coffee? A new branch of the Rebelbean café is coming our way! Coffee shop slackers, watch out! The popular rebels are coming to Nová Zbrojovka. They will open their pop-up café on the ground floor of the currently growing Montowna building. Welcome to a new episode with our liaison between Nová Zbrojovka and prospective buyers — Bára Očkayová, Nová Zbrojovka's sole sales manager.  | #7 Natálie Vencovská| What housing problems is Generation Z facing? Generation Z, i.e., people born between 1995 and 2012, is undoubtedly an important target group for our growing neighborhood. They are the ones who are currently dealing with (or will be dealing with in the coming years) the issue of housing. And we need to be ready for them and know their needs and preferences when choosing a new home.  | #8 Simon Klinga | When will we live on Mars, and how will we communicate with GenZ? We couldn’t have chosen a better guest for the second GenZ episode. At the age of 16, he founded the LASAR project, which won over a NASA-led jury in the U.S. Conrad Challenge competition, and by the end of 2024, his team had launched the first Czech student satellite – LASARsat. And of course, we were curious about what it’s like to live in space, what housing might look like on Mars in the future, what Simono’s current student housing is like, what it should be like in the future, what his generation needs in this regard, and how to best communicate with them. In addition to Gen Z, people who already have life experience, clear priorities, and know exactly what they want from their living situation are also an important part of our neighbourhood. For this new episode, we invited Anna, who bought an apartment here and openly shared her journey to her new home with us. We were curious about what was key for her when making her choice, how she thinks about housing in the next stage of her life, and how her needs have changed over time. The fifth season featured apartment buyers, architects, investors, chefs, city representatives, and even critics. It concluded with a unique virtual tour and over forty guests, including Zdeněk Pohlreich and Petr Švancara.

Thank You to Our Guests, Listeners and Everyone Who Joined the Journey
When we launched the first episode back in 2021, we had no idea that V ODZBROJENÍ would grow into a five-year project with more than 60 episodes. Architects, urban planners, entrepreneurs, politicians, students, experts, future residents, visionaries, and members of our own team all sat behind our microphones.
Every guest contributed a unique perspective and became part of the story of Nová Zbrojovka. Together, we discussed important topics – sometimes seriously, sometimes with humour – but always with the ambition to spark meaningful conversations.
A heartfelt thank you goes to every guest who accepted our invitation, and to all of you who listened and watched us over the years. Without you, V ODZBROJENÍ would never have become what it is today.
You can still find all previous episodes in our podcast archive. Although this marks the end of our regular podcast seasons, we're not closing the door completely. Nová Zbrojovka continues to evolve, and every now and then a story may come along that's simply too good not to put behind the microphone. And if there's a topic you'd like us to cover, let us know – we're always happy to be inspired.
