Strong cofee = strong story
Industra.Coffee offers not only strong coffee, but also a story. Founders Petra Střelecká and Adam Obrátil have a wealth of experience in prestigious London coffee shops. After this "experienced" they fulfilled their coffee shop dream and in 2013 they founded the Industra.Coffee concept in the industrial space of Mrazírny on Masná Street. Despite the not-so-good and difficult to reach address, the cafe found a lot of fans and became a legend. After having to move out, they took advantage of a nearly year-long temporary stay at Hovorna in Hrad, the former headquarters of Zbrojovka, before finding a café home in the building across from ZET.Office two years ago.
The larger space there also gave them the opportunity to build their own roastery, from which they now supply many coffee shops, and together with creative hub Industra.Space, create a space open not only for fine-tuned coffee, but also for theatre, lectures, gallery exhibitions and events, including barista courses where world-renowned baristas led by Petra and Adam can pass on their knowledge to fans of this life-saver.

And the winner is... Industra.Coffee
As it happens with strong stories full of determination, this one also received an award commensurate with the energy and enthusiasm invested and Industra.Coffee won the first place among the nine selected top cafes in Brno in the Gourmet Brno 2024 selection, an established evaluator of Brno's gastro establishments.
"After six years of Petra and I being on set every day, preparing and dispensing coffee, we are now taking care of things behind the scenes. We have the space to develop the concept, operations and deal with the technical background, and most importantly we are very lucky to be surrounded by a great team. We consider this success to be the result of our working unit," Adam Obrátil explains his impressions of the award, adding: "Our own roasting plant, the generous outdoor space we have here or the fact that we are located in the most industrial area we have ever operated in may have played a part."
The Gourmet Brno Gastro Guide, directed by TIC Brno, which has been running for eight years, apart from tips on selected cafés, also brings proven destinations in the category of restaurants and bistros, patisseries, beer bars, wine bars, but also the popular gastro concept of "takeaway". The total list includes 63 Brno establishments, including six category winners that you simply must try. We suggest, for example, to make a weekend "winners' trail", where you start with a morning coffee at Industra.Coffee and continue with the other winning establishments. In the category of bars, wine bars and beer bars, however, it will take some prudence and discipline so that even the last establishment can be properly consciously enjoyed.

A place that grows with you
We wanted to bring life back to the former armoury brownfield as much as possible, to create a community, a space for meeting and entertainment before the individual buildings, a new full-fledged urban district, are built. And we are very happy that our plan is working and that the area, which a few years ago was called a dead area, is alive again. And it's also reaping development successes not only in the form of urban design and architectural awards, but it's also getting these sub-community wins that we're so supportive of.
So feel free to stop by Industra.Coffee for a "winner's coffee" or one of our year-round events. You can soak up the atmosphere of history and the moments when something new is being born. Maybe the next new winning idea or inspiration is waiting for you right here!
