Late last year, we started construction on our first two residences, bringing the total to 301 units. We consider accessibility to school facilities to be a key element for family comfort. We currently have two private schools and a playgroup, which will be joined in the coming years by a planned state-run nursery and primary school with 27 classes for over 800 children. The City of Brno is currently preparing project documentation for implementation based on the design of the SOA architects studio selected in an architectural competition in 2022. Another kindergarten will be built on the Svitava embankment at the entrance to Nová Zbrojovka, for the construction of which an investment plan has already been approved.

A safe place for children
Residences are oriented towards the quieter western part of the neighborhood towards the waterfront and pedestrian zones with speed limits and slowdown thresholds are designed around them. Again, this is one of the aspects that support the idea of a neighborhood designed primarily for pedestrians and cyclists. Cars will of course have their place here, within the parking primarily underground, which allows us to make better use of surface space. For example, the implementation of a green promenade with water features that will connect Nová Zbrojovka and encourage walking and relaxation, or new cycle paths over 2 kilometres long. At the end of the equation of school within easy reach plus a safe environment with minimal cars is then the possibility to let children go to school unaccompanied, which loosely implies more time for parents, and you just want that!

Greenery in Nová Zbrojovka will make up 30% of the buildable area. In the following years, a two-hectare sports and relaxation waterfront will be added, which is currently being designed under the auspices of the City of Brno. Another significant concentration of trees is planned in the central part of the square and pedestrian zones, and tree avenues are planned in all streets. It will be easy to find a suitable route for a walk with children in a quiet environment ending, for example, in a café by the playground.
